Making Sunday Happen: Thinking about how we worship together

Sunday, January 26th, 2014. Meeting & soup lunch @ 1PM.

Worship Committee will present results from the worship survey, facilitate a conversation about our theology on communion, and bring forth proposals on moving forward towards more enriched, engaged worship life. If you are involved in leading on Sunday mornings, you should make every effort to attend. If you are not an organizer for worship, but have strong feelings about how worship looks/could look, you should also attend. This meeting is for all!

MYF Tuesday Dec 10 at 7:00 PM- There will be a meeting with the Mennonite Youth Fellowship at Wideman Mennonite Church for an Affirmative Review discussion on the strengths that Pastor Jonathan Slater brings to the youth ministry and suggested areas for growth.  

 

Advent Carol Sing – December 15:  Sing some of your old and new favourite Christmas and Advent songs at the joint Advent carol sing at Wideman Mennonite Church on December 15 at 7:00 p.m.  The theme this year is: The Wait Is Over But There's A Lot To Look Forward To."  Wideman MC will provide beverages for after the service.  Please bring some cookies or squares to share

Help the People of the Philippines:  MCC has begun its response to Typhoon Haiyan by providing funding for immediate needs and supporting a disaster response assessment team.  Donations from individual Canadians to MCC's Typhoon response made between Nov. 9 and Dec. 23, are eligible to be matched by the Canadian government. Syrian Bazaar Fundraiser:  December 6, 11 am to 6 pm and December 7, 11 am to 4 pm 50 Kent Ave, Kitchener. Delicious food, sweets, traditional crafts and handmade accessories, face painting and more. All proceeds to MCC's work in Lebanon and Syria. Join the event on facebook for more info.

Fathers & Kids Retreat: January 17-19, 2014 at Silver Lake Mennonite Camp: Skating on the lake, building snowmen and igloos in the field, following animal tracks through the woods, roasting smores over the campfire, playing board games by the fire in the dining hall and just being at camp is loads of fun, but the best part is doing it with dad! Come and help rebuild High River!  MDS is scheduling weekly groups (Tuesday to Saturday work weeks) beginning January 2014 for work in High River.  Please call Chantel Runtz in the Winnipeg office to book.  Volunteers are also still needed in Staten Island, NYC and other locations.
